Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Seafood chowder was delicious and my friends had the Lamb koftas which were a bit spicy. After my travels I needed a large coffee and they did deliver on that. I was amazed that it was so crowded as it seems it is in the middle of nowhere. Go try it. The menu price is a bit on the higher side but that is for the quality of the meals. Sorry didn't take photos of the meals, we were hungry and didn't get permission. Use your imagination"
"Amazing little cafe just off the road. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, the food is tasty, hearty and very fair priced. The place has history, character and a great atmosphere and sources a lot of the produce locally, including the lamb. Voted best rural cafe in 2018 and I can totally see why!"
"I arrived on Sunday early afternoon when it was very busy with the lunch rush. But the staff very kindly and quickly found me a table and I ordered a hot chocolate which was absolutely delicious. I didn’t want a full meal and, as a vegetarian, there was little on the menu for me. However the young waitress was persistent and talked me through all kinds of options they could make for me and we settled on a focaccia toasted sandwich with mushroom cheese and onion. When it turned up it was mouthwatering, a sandwich on steroids. Delicious caramelised onions. Very grateful."
"A wonderful find off the highway after spending time on the beach. The dishes are tasty and reminiscent of a country style done with good flavours and perfect seasoning Vegetarian options are limited except for the mushroom risotto which was excellent The atmosphere is lovely, as the building appears to be an old homestead"
"Absolutely delicious, every single time! Have sampled a good range of the menu now, but their risotto is incredible - and you must have it with their house-smoked local salmon. Hubby swears by the beef burger. A great selection of drinks - and they make an excellent coffee too. The sort of place you drive to just for the food and experience (and the scenery either side is fantastic too!). Situated in a lovely old villa, with a fire going in the cooler months. Incredibly friendly, hard-working staff who often juggle a full house. They look after you so well the whole time. We'll be back, time after time!"
"My wife and I had afternoon tea there this afternoon (Sunday 15/2/2026). I had a piece of carrot cake (which was HUGE) and my wife had ginger slice. I had cappuccino and my wife hot chocolate. We enjoyed everything. The service was friendly and fast. My only suggestion would be to leave the walnuts off the ginger slice, couldn't see them due to their location and many do not / cannot eat them."
"Fabulous!! If you are hungry or looking just to snack this is the place to be. Lovely flat white (x 2).Quiet enough to have a conversation. Indoor and outdoor spaces."
"Recently popped in for quick lunch snack and coffee. Brownie was excellent. Scone was yummy. Smoothie good too. Well recommended. Only drawback was staff member hawking and spitting out the back, clearly audible to guests tables. Hopefully a one off! Just to reply on the owner's comment below. What we heard came from right beside us where young staff members were sat on what i assume was a break outside the back door. No issue with the service or food as per our initial review."
